From  Andeljka in Croatia.

Right now everything in my life feels upside down and I don’t know how to regain the energy and zest for life I used to have. How can I regain positive energy I used to have?

Dear Andeljka,

There is never really any going back, only a going forward.

Sometimes, in our attempt to regain something we think we have lost, we miss out on the healing available for us in the present moment. As I tune into your energetics, it feels to me like you’re going through ‘a dark night of the soul’. Here are a few pointers that have helped both myself and many of my clients navigate this completely normal and organic phase of life.

1)    Don’t make yourself or your experience wrong. Rather, love yourself and shower yourself with compassion. Write yourself a love letter. treat yourself to a warm bath and make yourself a hot cuppa tea. Become your own best friend. You, my dearest, are loved no matter what!

2)    Immerse yourself in a supportive environment, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This may range from spending time in nature, joining a support group or investing in a qualified ‘space holder’ who is familiar with the territory of this journey.

3)    Allow rather than resist. Have you ever tried to resist a storm or hate the winter? Have you ever considered pulling a seed out of the ground so you could make it grow faster? Your ‘dark night of the soul’ is a phase like all others. Remind yourself that this too shall pass.

4)    Focus on what you do have. Write in your journal. Re-mind yourself of what you do have – your health, your eyesight, family, food on the table, air to breathe– whatever you can come up with, open up to stance of gratitude.

I hold YOU, and whatever clearing you are going through in my heart!

I invite you to do the same.
