Share the goodness!

Dream interpretation for your entrepreneurial soul.

STOP_SIGN_GRN_PRPL(2)A few weeks ago, while meeting a dear friend for coffee, she opened her heart and shared how stuck she felt in her life lately (…& to stay in integrity, she did grant me full permission to share this with you). She conveyed how nothing seemed to be shifting for her in the romantic arena and how utterly tired and frustrated she was not being on the receiving end of a loving, committed relationship, an intention she had long been holding for herself.

Shortly after our conversation she had the following two dreams. In dream #1, she saw herself sitting in her car, waiting for a yellow traffic light to turn green. Dream #2 presented her with an image of a truck blocking her car in a parking lot as she was about to back up.

My friend, a fellow psychotherapist and kindred soul, is highly intuitive andadept at extracting depth and meaning from the imagery she receives through her dreams.. so when she shared them with me, we both recognized that the common denominator in both instances was the waiting factor.

The imagery clearly pointed to the fact that she had no choice but to wait – wait for the yellow traffic light to turn green and for the truck to move before she could back up and drive off.

However, despite the flashing neon signals’ from the depths of her own consciousness, she became increasingly more frustrated, agitated and shamelessly verbal about the inefficiency of “the cosmic delivery system”.

While her ego ranted away about this universal injustice, I simply listened.

After all, we’re each entitled to our human experience, and in that moment, she needed a friend to hear and contain her, not a ‘better than thou coach’ nudging her to think positively and transcend her frustrations (ugh…I hate when that happens!).

Just at that moment,‘universal humor’kicked in.

I say this because I suddenly blurted out “Why don’t you just read a magazine!”

My sudden out-of-nowhere, knee-jerk response had us both laughing hysterically as we both imagined (so we found out later) a typical doctor’s waiting room stacked with outdated magazines. You know, the ones that get you caught up on the last decade-worth of Hollywood gossip.

We both got it!

It was time for her to quit micromanaging the universe and give herself permission to leisurely wait (aka ‘read a magazine’) for her scheduled appointment with destiny and her long awaited king charming (and yep, you heard right, no more princes thank you very much!).

I share this anecdote with you because most of us entrepreneurial types can hardly keep up with the infinite stream of creative ideas that beg to express through us.

Nothing can get done fast enough for us super-inspired souls. Patience? Now that’s a quality we would like to cultivate someday, but not today, right?

Do you get where I’m heading with this?

At certain times in our business and life, we have to understand that no amount of pushing or over-doing can bring about the growth, change or outcome we desire.

There comes a time when the best policy is to surrender to divine timing.

After all, we may be responsible for planting a seed in the ground, but no matter how insistent we are that the seed produce fruit on our terms (“right now”), pulling it out from the ground will simply ruin it. End of story (literally!).

So, if you’re trying too hard, working yourself into the ground, or simply frustrated at not yet getting the results you seek, cut yourself some slack, do the best you can with the resources you have, ditch your agenda and surrender your will to divine will.

Then, anticipate reaping the fruits of your intentions and labor ….in perfect divine timing.

Meanwhile, how about reading a magazine!

From my heart,
